Sonam Wangchuk's wife leads protest, seeks hospital transfer
Activist Sonam Wangchuk's wife, Gitangjali Angmo, has announced plans to lead a 'Parliament March' and stated that Wangchuk would end his hunger strike if politicians raise the issue in Parliament. Wangchuk has been on a 20-day fast. His wife had sought his transfer to a private hospital, but a court rejected her appeal, stating he would be treated at Safdarjung Hospital, a decision the government justified by noting even the President receives treatment there. Meanwhile, a candle march in support of Wangchuk in Noida was stopped by police, with Samajwadi Party members reportedly detained.
