Floods and landslides cause deaths in India and Afghanistan
Floods and landslides have resulted in multiple fatalities and significant damage in both India and Afghanistan. In India's Jammu and Kashmir region, at least 22 people died due to flash floods and landslides in areas like Rajouri, Poonch, and Doda, with homes and shops inundated and a boulder crashing into a passenger bus. Separately, flash floods in Afghanistan's Nuristan province killed at least 20 people and left over 100 missing, causing heavy loss of life and property. In Northeast India, six people were killed by floods and landslips, leading to train service disruptions in Assam.
