Oil Prices Surge, Impacting Indian Markets and Rupee

Global crude oil prices surpassed $90 per barrel due to escalating US-Iran tensions and fears of supply disruption. This surge led to a decline in Indian stock markets, with the BSE Sensex falling 0.47% and the NSE Nifty dipping 0.53%. The Indian rupee also weakened against the U.S. dollar, hitting a two-month low of 96.57, with the Reserve Bank of India reportedly intervening to support the local currency. Petrol prices in the U.S. rose to $4.00 per gallon.
