Nepal replaces disputed map on coins with monastery image
Nepal has decided to replace the disputed political map, which included Kalapani, Lipulekh, and Limpiyadhura, with an image of the 7th-century Lo Gyaker Monastery on its one and two rupee coins. This decision comes amidst ongoing discussions between India and Nepal regarding the border dispute. The new coin design will feature the ancient Buddhist monastery instead of the contentious territorial representation.
