Delhi Approves Schemes to Phase Out Old Vehicles, Boost Electric Buses

The Delhi government has approved the 'Parivartan' scheme to replace polluting commercial vehicles with newer, cleaner BS-VI models. This policy aims to reduce air pollution and is expected to benefit approximately 2.07 lakh truck and bus owners in the Delhi-NCR region. Additionally, the government cleared the procurement of 2,800 electric AC buses for the DTC fleet under the PM e-Drive scheme, targeting a total of 14,000 buses by 2028-29.
