Boy, 6, Drowns in Greater Noida Pit; Contractor Arrested
A six-year-old boy drowned in a 15-20 foot deep pit filled with rainwater in Greater Noida's Knowledge Park area. The pit, dug for boring work near Kaladham Society, reportedly lacked barricades or warning signs. Residents found the boy after hearing other children's cries. The boy, identified as Avyaan Surya, was taken to a hospital where he was declared dead. The contractor involved in the digging has been arrested, and authorities are investigating the incident. Residents alleged negligence by the Greater Noida Authority.
