India aims for Formula 1 return with motor-sport body recognition
India's Sports Ministry has granted National Sports Federation (NSF) status to the Federation of Motor Sports Clubs of India (FMSCI). This move is part of an effort to bring Formula 1 back to the country, with a target of hosting a race by 2028. India previously hosted F1 races from 2011 to 2013 before they were removed from the calendar due to taxation and financial issues.
