Low-pressure area forms, bringing heavy rain warnings across India

A low-pressure area has formed in the Bay of Bengal near Odisha, prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue warnings of heavy rainfall. The IMD forecasts that this system could intensify into a depression. Heavy to moderate rains are expected in several states, including Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, and parts of Madhya Pradesh and Punjab. River levels have risen in Belagavi due to Maharashtra rains, and concerns about water contamination in Indore have been noted by the National Green Tribunal.
