Indian athletes win silver and bronze medals at Commonwealth Games
Weightlifter Rishikanta Singh won a silver medal in the men's 60kg event at the Commonwealth Games 2026, setting a new Games record in the snatch discipline with a 121kg lift. He achieved a total lift of 264kg. Separately, Jhandu Kumar secured a bronze medal in para powerlifting, becoming India's first medallist of the Games. Jhandu Kumar's medal came with a best lift of 190kg for 130.9 points.
