Nation Observes 27th Kargil Vijay Diwas, Pays Tributes to War Heroes
India observed the 27th anniversary of Kargil Vijay Diwas on July 26, commemorating the success of 'Operation Vijay' in 1999. The operation concluded with India reclaiming strategic heights in Ladakh from Pakistani intruders after a nearly three-month battle. President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, and other leaders paid homage to the 527 soldiers who sacrificed their lives. The Army Chief highlighted the soldiers' valour and resolve in scripting a "golden history of victory."
