SEBI Proposes New Advertising Rules for Financial Entities
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has proposed new advertising regulations for financial entities, including mutual funds and stockbrokers. Under these proposed rules, celebrities would be permitted to endorse financial brands but not specific products. The initiative, known as the Common Advertisement Code, aims to standardize regulations across the financial sector. This new framework would remove the requirement for prior approval of advertisements, shifting to a system of post-issuance monitoring.
