Food Safety Authority Suspends Licenses of Multiple Food Businesses
The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has suspended the licenses of several food businesses for violations. Rehaan Healthcare's license was suspended over food safety issues, while Westend Agro Products faced suspension for altering expiry dates and other violations, including alleged food labelling issues. Additionally, licenses of elite clubs like CCI, Juhu Gymkhana, MIG, and Willingdon were suspended. The Bombay High Court, however, questioned the FDA's criteria for license cancellation in a case involving a hotel and a small number of insects, suggesting that cancelling a license for just two insects might be excessive.
