FBI Suspect Arrested in Jamaica Over Alleged $32 Million COVID Fraud
Elaine Escoe, a 41-year-old woman, was arrested in Jamaica on February 20, 2023, and extradited to the US to face federal charges related to a $32 million COVID-19 relief scam. The FBI's Most Wanted Fraudsters List had listed her as a suspect. She is accused of conspiracy to commit wire fraud, conspiracy to commit money laundering, and multiple counts of wire fraud and money laundering. Escoe was returned to the Southern District of Florida to face these charges.
