India Tackles Rising Human-Wildlife Conflict with Elephant Profiling
India's forest departments are initiating a profiling system for straying elephants to address escalating human-wildlife conflicts. Rapid Response Teams, field staff, and forest watchers are documenting elephants that repeatedly enter human settlements using photographs, videos, and field reports. This initiative aims to manage the growing problem of animals venturing into populated areas, with specific attention also being given to human-wildlife conflicts involving Asiatic lions in Gujarat.
