Wildfires Force Hundreds of Thousands to Flee Homes in Europe
Wildfires in Spain and France have forced hundreds of thousands of people to evacuate their homes. In Spain, near Madrid, 10,000 people were evacuated. French and Spanish authorities are struggling to contain the blazes, which are partly attributed to successive heatwaves. In France, one of the largest forest fires since World War II is blazing near Bordeaux, with 42,000 hectares burnt and 220,000 people evacuated. In Canada's British Columbia, wildfires caused the sky to turn orange.
