Bank of Baroda reports 1TB customer data leak after employee email compromise

Bank of Baroda has reported a data breach where approximately 1 terabyte of customer information was allegedly leaked onto the dark web. The bank stated that a compromised employee email led to the incident, which exposed internal documents including branch audit reports, loan appraisal files, and customer account forms. Bank of Baroda confirmed that its core banking systems were not accessed and has initiated a forensic investigation into the breach. The incident has prompted other banks, such as Canara Bank, to increase their cybersecurity spending.
