Johnson & Johnson to pay $5.5 billion to settle talc lawsuits
Johnson & Johnson has agreed to pay up to $5.5 billion (approximately ₹52,700 crore) to settle tens of thousands of lawsuits alleging its talc-based baby powder caused ovarian cancer. The company has maintained that its talc products are safe and have been marketed appropriately for over a century. This proposed settlement aims to resolve a decade-long legal battle involving about 76,000 claims.
