Number of High-Income Earners Above Rs 100 Crore Increased Significantly
Government data reveals a nearly 40% increase in individuals reporting an income exceeding Rs 100 crore in FY2024-25. A total of 576 individuals disclosed incomes above this threshold, with 161 new high-income earners identified in the past year. The majority of these super-rich taxpayers are not salaried, aligning with previous income patterns. This data also indicates a rise in direct tax collection's share of total revenue.
