Assam floods kill 75; heavy rain causes landslides, disrupts travel
Assam has reported 75 flood-related deaths, with seven fatalities occurring in Sivasagar district. Heavy monsoon rains have also caused landslides and flash floods in other parts of India, including Himachal Pradesh and Kashmir. In Himachal Pradesh's Chamba district, landslides buried two trucks and washed away five cars, while cloudbursts led to the closure of 290 roads in the region. The Char Dham Yatra in Uttarakhand has been suspended due to the adverse weather. The Assam Chief Minister announced Rs 9 lakh in relief for affected families.
