Salman Rushdie attacker convicted of terrorism charges in US
A US federal jury convicted Hadi Matar of charges including engaging in an act of transnational terrorism for the 2022 stabbing of author Salman Rushdie. Matar attacked Rushdie as he prepared to give a speech, stabbing him multiple times. The conviction means Matar faces a potential life sentence in US prison.
