Supreme Court allows pellet gun use in exceptional circumstances, orders medical aid
The Supreme Court has ruled that pellet guns can be used by police in "exceptional circumstances" and directed the Delhi government to ensure medical treatment for protesters injured by them. A bench comprising Chief Justice Surya Kant, Justice Joymalya Bagchi, and Justice V. Mohana stated that the BPRD advisory permits such use. The court was hearing a plea seeking a complete ban on pellet guns, which it deemed "vague." Separately, the court also directed medical aid for students injured in a Jantar Mantar pellet gun incident.
