Supreme Court Allows Post-Facto Environmental Clearances Via Notification

The Supreme Court has ruled that the Centre can permit post-facto environmental clearances through a statutory notification. This decision allows for environmental approvals to be granted after a project has already begun or been completed. The Congress party has stated its intention to resist these attempts to broaden the scope of post-facto environmental clearances. The court's ruling enables the government to issue such notifications.
